Workroom Project Management

TWP Workroom Project Management

There are so many details that go into managing a soft furnishings project. It’s a complicated business and we know you need a way to keep track of every aspect of every job.

The Workroom Pro has a soft furnishings project management system designed to do just that. There are 2 aspects to this system. Order Tracking and WIP (work in progress). Once an order is placed, these features will help you stay on top of the project from start to finish. Many of these are visible to your client as well, so that they can log on at their convenience and see the status of their project. This cuts down on the number of client phone calls that take up your valuable time.

Order Tracking - Visible to You and to Your Client

  • Due dates – On the main page of Order Tracking you can set the due date for this project.
  • Status – You can also select the job status from an available list of drop downs.
  • Invoice total, invoice #, balance due.

Trim Track - Visible to You and to Your Client

  • If any trims are included in this order, the Trim Track feature provides a list of the trims, the yardages and the cuts needed.
  • The trim can be checked in when you receive it. You just record the date received and the amount of yardage received. When the trim has been received and checked in, the trim name becomes highlighted, denoting that you received it. Your client can see that it’s been received on their side of the program.
  • You are also able to designate the seamstress you assigned to this part of the project.

Fabric Track - Visible to You and to Your Client

  • Just like Trim Track, there is a list of every fabric needed to complete this order, along with yardage and cuts.
  • You can receive each fabric as they arrive and compare yardages ordered to yardages received. As you check in a fabric, the fabric name is highlighted, denoting that you received it. Your client can see that the yardage has been received as well as the date it was received.
  • You are also able to designate the seamstress you assigned to this part of the project.

Job Costing - Visible Only to the Administrative Side

  • Under the Job Costing tab, you can keep track of the material and labor cost for this part of the project. The system will automatically calculate your profit or loss and your profit margin.

WIP - Work in Progress

  • Work in Progress or WIP is a check list of the typical tasks associated with taking a Soft Furnishings project from order to install. This list can be broken down into any number of roles or positions your workroom has. i.e., Office Manager, Workroom Manager, Project Manager, Billing/Accounting.
  • Under each role you can create a list of tasks associated with that role. Tasks can be checked off as they’re completed, and the system tracks the person who completed that task.
  • The WIP is totally customizable by you to fit your organizational chart and your typical tasks.
